ELLENSBURG RANCH
LOCATION ELLENSBURG, WASHINGTON
TYPE SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
SIZE 5700 SQ/FT
STATUS COMPLETED // 2025
Nestled within the sweeping fields of a working alfalfa farm, the Ellensburg Ranch House is a single-story residence designed to integrate with its rural Eastern Washington context while introducing a contemporary interpretation of regional vernacular. A series of gabled volumes organizes the plan, creating a clear rhythm that defines interior and exterior zones. Large openings provide controlled natural light and frame expansive views of the surrounding plains, while strategically positioned outdoor areas offer protection from prevailing winds. The structure employs reclaimed barn wood and a dark metal roof for durability and visual continuity, ensuring the building ages gracefully within its agricultural setting. The design prioritizes permanence, environmental harmony, and functional simplicity, resulting in a home that is both contextually responsive and spatially efficient.
Ellensburg Ranch is the first in a series of structures designed for this expansive agricultural site. Please stay tuned.
